Getting my hair and makeup done really wasn't much different from getting ready for a Jenny Craig commercial or a magazine photo shoot. My good friend Roque was there to fix my hair - I've been working with him for four years and I feel so comfortable around him. As a wedding gift, Roque and his partner Jimmy gave me the beautiful antique combs that I wore in my hair that day. Eric Bernard did my makeup - I've known him for decades - in fact, I knew him back in the 80s and was thrilled to reconnect with him recently. In fact, they did my hair and makeup for the Good Housekeeping cover!

It set me at ease to have old friends helping me with this very important day, and it wasn't too different than a day on the set. Eric and Roque spread out their supplies across my kitchen table. I went for a morning run to get some "pink" into my cheeks (and my brain since I love to listen to Pink when I exercise), and then I got showered and let the boys get to work. Eric and Roque also did my Mom's hair and makeup for the wedding - and of course, she looked beautiful as always. Beth did my nails and also did manis and pedis for all of the girls - Tom's sister Angela, his sister-in-law Robin, my sister-in-law Stacy, and Tom's daughters (and my new step-daughters) Andie and Angela! 

Getting ready for the wedding was a family event. Angela and the girls helped Tom with his boutonniere and cufflinks - it's just so easy for guys! Then they joined Robin and me in my room to put the "finishing touches" on - it was a production getting into that dress with all of those buttons, but the results were wonderful. It was such a special day!
