Veebow, a new, free app that was inspired by actress Valerie Bertinelli, is poised to change the way Americans buy products and services. Co-founded by Bertinelli's husband Tom Vitale and his partner, Edward Loew, Veebow connects buyers with companies through national and local special deals using a free application on smartphones or mobile devices.
"Valerie would sit at the table in her PJ's, clipping coupons," commented Veebow CEO, Tom Vitale. "She kept asking, 'If coupons are supposed to be free, why do people have to pay for them online?' Many offers were for something she didn't need, weren't local, cost money up front or required a group to get the deal. This inspired us to change the 'Group-Buying' landscape. Veebow offers consumers special savings without requiring pre-payment or purchasing coupons."
The steps are simple:
- Consumers download a free iPhone or Android app
- They browse area deals on their smartphone
- They download a free coupon via the app while at the retailer
- Deals last between two and four weeks
Veebow is attractive to businesses, too. Merchants are paid immediately when a voucher is redeemed. And Veebow's "geo-fencing" technology delivers access to coupons only when consumers are at a merchant's location.
"Every merchant we talk to gives a huge sigh of relief because Veebow is not a 'Group-Buying' site," explained Veebow President Edward Loew. "Those sites make merchants promote an offer that's not profitable, take a large percentage of the revenue and often hold the merchant's money for 30, 60, or even 90 days. That's just not fair."
Veebow has already been embraced by top retailers with offers ranging from merchandise to services in New York, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami and Seattle and other cities. Over 150 companies are lined up for the launch.
