With the World Series starting, I am getting wistful, thinking back to the fun I had this summer with the Cleveland Indians.

When Hot in Cleveland went to Cleveland for the premiere of the second half of Season 2, I had the honor of throwing out the first pitch for the Cleveland Indians - Pittsburgh Pirates game. The game turned out to be quite the celebration, as the whole Vitale clan came out to celebrate an early 50th birthday for both my new husband, Tom and my dear brother, David.

Zoo_ValGir.jpgOne of the highlights of our trip to Cleveland for the Season 2 premiere of Hot in Cleveland was a personal tour of the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Surrounded by a neighborhood of tidy homes, the Zoo consists of 183 rolling, wooded acres with RainForest, Australian Adventure, Wolf Wilderness, and African Savanna environments - plus so much more.

Our Trip to Italy, Part 1 - Rome PDF Print E-mail

In March, I took a page from Melanie, my Hot in Cleveland alter-ego, and cashed in all my points and took my best friend to Europe. Unlike Melanie, we went to Italy – not Paris. I didn’t crash land in Cleveland – though Tom did grow up in that area – and I didn’t see my ex-husband on the plane.

Instead, I got engaged!

Our trip to Italy was special for so many reasons. Tom and I come from big Italian families and wanted to explore our heritage. We had both been working hard and wanted to take a much-needed break before a crush of big projects came our way later in the spring. Finally, who wouldn’t want to be in the most romantic place on earth with the one you love?

Tom's Hottest Bets In Cleveland PDF Print E-mail
travel

myguys.pngHaving grown up in Ohio with family and friends still living there, Valerie's fiance Tom Vitale is very familiar with the location of her new TV Land sitcom, Hot in Cleveland. "The Rock 'n Roll Capital of the World" holds a special place in his heart, so he shared with us his best bets for the Hottest Things in Cleveland (and the surrounding area).

1) The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum

2) The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton

3) Cedar Point Amusement Park - the Roller Coaster Capital of the World

4) Little Italy Cleveland

5) Blossom Music Center in Tom's hometown, Cuyahoga Falls

"My all-time favorite is the smell of football on Saturday in the fall at The Ohio State University stadium," Tom said. "I hope you enjoy the city... as much as you enjoy Hot in Cleveland."

Hooray for Hollywood

If Los Angeles is the center of the entertainment universe, then Hollywood is its heart.

When you come out to California to watch a taping of Hot in Cleveland, make sure to take a few hours to visit the intersection of Hollywood and Highland

Within a few short blocks, you will literally be surrounded by stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Maintained by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the Walk of Fame honors more than 2,400 stars in the film, television, theatre, radio and recording industries from the historic (Judy Garland) to the hysterical (Shrek). The Chamber has a handy web site, where you can search for your favorite stars. Also, the Chamber posts updates of stars who will be honored throughout the year - so check before your trip to see if you can catch a Walk of Fame ceremony.
